New to predator calling and this forum. Any guys here from Michigan? Would like to pick some brains and maybe learn a thing or two. Like I said am a newbie but have had great success already and want to continue it by learning some more. Also any guys hunting in Minnesota am originall from there and heading back there this fall. Wondering on what areas of the state are the best for someone coming in from out of state.
All help greatly appreciated Thanks -------------------- Kill 'Em Dead in twenty ten!!!!

HI Chris
well where to start is the thing But lets go with a caller so many to chose from as well I have a E Caller it is a primos Power Dog It has 12 calls on it and is remote to 200 yrd's unless in the thick woods . I don't use all the sounds at the same place just every now and then I change up every time I am out . You can go with a Blow style which is a lot cheaper but does not make it hands free sort of speak like the E callers . Places I like to hunt I like creek bottoms & swamps so mainly wet lands in the winter months Fall time I like the edge of the farm fields like calling out of a deer Blind in a hay field or CRP . you can call in Both Coyotes and cat with most of the animal in distress call and calling can be 10 to 15 minutes long depends on if your in a HIGH population area . Winter I like hunting after the first of the year with the snow and new moons on these frozen creek bottoms and I know what tyour thinking WHY Why is because these open area's they yotes like to follow and will breed in these areas . A lot of times they will also hunt these HIGH grass areas for Mice or what ever else might be caught off guard in these open area's. Calls Mouse squeaks, fawn in distress , Pup in distress , Coyote Howl , Female bark , Rabbit in distress , jack rabbit Distress, crow frenzy . Hope this help you any questions will try my best to help Good hunting . |
